Sympathy Expression is an expression or feeling of pity and sorrow when we know and see someone or people are unlucky or have trouble and in bad condition. By expressing Sympathy Expression, we want to show or concern of carefulness on other people’s condition.
When you hear a bad story from your friend, how can you give Sympathy Expression to him/her ?
Simple present tense : to tell a work,event or something today
Functions : 1 )to tell habits acton. Ex : I go to school everyday except Sunday
2)to tell general truth. Ex : The world is round
3)to tell self identify

Narrative Text
Narrative Text is a kind of text to retell the story that past tense. The purpose of the text is to entertain or to amuse readers or listeners about the story.
The Generic Structure :
- Orientation : It set the scene and introduce the participants. (who, when, what, where)
- Complication : Tells the problems of the story and how the main characters solve them.
- Resolution : The crisis revolved, for better or worse.
- Re-orientation : The ending of the story.
- Evaluation : The stepping back to evaluate the stoty or the moral message ofthe story.
Linguistic Features
- Use active verbs
- Used Simple Past Tense
- Use conjuctions
- The first person (I/you/we/they) or the third person (he/she/it)
- Use specific nouns
- Use adjective and adverb

Sympathy Expression
Sympathy Expression is an expression or feeling of pity and sorrow when we know and see someone or people are unlucky or have trouble and in bad condition. By expressing Sympathy Expression, we want to show or concern of carefulness on other people’s condition.
When you hear a bad story from your friend, how can you give Sympathy Expression to him/her ?
You can express it directly to him/her orally we can use
Here is the kinds of Sympathy Expression :
- Oh dear..
- What a pity.
- What a shame.
- How terrible !
- That’s a terrible.
- That’s too bad.
- How dreadful !
- I’m sorry to hear that.
- I’m so sad to hear that.
- I’m sympathy on you.
- I know how it feels.
- I’m awfully sorry about...
- I’m sorry for what’s happened.
- Look ! this is not the end of the world !
The example for accepting Sympathy :
- Thank you.
- Thanks.
