cause that have already been concluded and whose exact time of occurrence is known. 

Hey guys, this is the simple past tense

(+) S + V2

   

(-) S + not + V1

(?) did + S + V1 ?

This is the Past Continuous Tense

(+) S + be (was/were) + V-ing

(-) S + be (was/were) not + V-ing

(?) be (was/were) + S + V-ing ?

This is the Past Perfect Tense

(+) S + had + V3

(-) S + had not + V3

(?) had + S + V3 ?

And this is the Past Perfect Continuous Tense

(+) S + had + been + V-ing

(-) S + had not + been + V-ing

(?) had + S + been + V-ing ?
